43rd Annual Relief Sale

On April 1 & 2 the Nebraska Mennonite Relief Sale was back at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The weekend was filled with an assortment of delicious foods, meaningful conversations, and a spirit of generosity. In addition to supporting Mennonite Central Committee's normal operations, a special project donation was collected to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

What’s New?

  • Friday night’s soup supper, a beloved tradition at the sale, was replaced by a hamburger feed. The meal sold out, with board member Marlene Swartzendruber just missing the last burger.

  • The priced foods booth got new shelving and a name change! The booth is now called the “Market” and is where any pre-priced/bulk items, including Klein Zwibach and Equal Exchange products, can be found.

  • In an effort to help with volunteer shortages, several of the food booths were combined, allowing visitors to purchase a wider variety of items from the same booth.

  • Storm damage removed the use of the overhead door, causing fewer bleachers, more tables, and no trailers. This unexpected change went over well and may just stick around.
